Some of Slink's features include:
- Browse securely through your home broadband connection. All traffic is encrypted and tunneled securely via your home broadband connection. This is particularly useful when you are using WiFi hotspots and other public networks.
- Slink has a menu bar item. Optionally, you can run Slink as a menu bar item only. (That is, no dock icon is shown.) You can launch services directly from the hierarchical menu bar item menu.
- Slink supports Growl so that you can be notified when Slink connects, disconnects, and discovers new services. This is particularly useful when running as a menu bar item only.
- Slink displays the number of discovered Bonjour services on the dock icon when connected.
- Slink allows you to customize its operations via its Preferences window.
- You can set the growl notifications that you want Slink to use.
